III. Research Themes:
Our research focuses on, but not limited to, the following broad themes:
(1) Information-theoretic approaches to physics
(2) Quantum communications and quantum cryptography
(3) Quantum dynamics in open quantum systems
(4) Beyond conventional quantum theory
(5) Characterization, certification, and distillation of quantum resources

IV. Activities
- Regular Quantum Information Science seminars held at NCKU during semester time every second Monday from 1210 - 1400
- Annual Workshop on Quantum Science and Technology
- Annual Young Researchers Forum on Quantum Information Science

V. Expected achievements:
- Improvement of our overall understanding of quantum theory and the phenomena that fall under its application domain
- Development of novel protocols for quantum information processing
- Establishment of steady collaborative relationships among the core members, with other local experts, and with leading international groups
