Theoretical Challenges of Strong-Field Phenomena in 2D Materials: An Experimentalist’s Perspective
Abstract:
We present our experimental work on dielectric breakdown in monolayer 2D materials and the development of 2D Keldysh photoionization formulism. We will highlight 3 anomalies in strong-field response of 2D materials compared to the bulk, including quantum-confined avalanche ionization in solids. Our findings call for advanced theoretical investigation.
