Abstract:
Abstract: In this talk I will discuss some recent advancements to the Witten-Sakai-Sugimoto model for holographic QCD, illuminating these via application to neutron star matter. I will begin with a brief review of the important features of the original model before discussing recent progress in providing a simultaneous description of isospin asymmetric baryonic matter with (massive) pion and rho meson condensates. The isospin asymmetry allows for a construction of the neutron star equation of state entirely from holography, including a dynamical computation of the crust-core transition. Finally, I will show that despite our version of the model containing only three free parameters, it is able to account for stars that simultaneously meet the current astrophysical constraints on mass, radius, and tidal deformability.
