Abstract:
Recently Dorey, Tong, and Turner (DTT) introduced a matrix model to describe the nonabelian quantum Hall effect, building on earlier work from Polychronakos \cite{Polychronakos2001}. After the diagonalization of the matrix, a Hamiltonian describing the dynamics of the eigenvalues is obtained. The form of this Hamiltonian is reminiscent of a spin Calogero-Moser model with Gaussian potential but also involves higher representations of the non-abelian symmetry. We diagonalize this Hamiltonian and present both the spectrum and eigenfunctions. We further show that the spectrum reproduces the characters of a Kac-Moody algebra in the large N limit from the level-rank duality. It confirms previous results of DTT. This talk is based on a joint work with Jean-Emile Bourgine (Melbourne University).
