Toward verification of electroweak baryogenesis

Abstract:

It is known that the baryon asymmetry of the Universe (BAU) may arise by the dynamics of the electroweak phase transition if it is of first order (called electroweak baryogenesis mechanism). The discovery of the 125 GeV Higgs boson is the first step toward the collider verification of electroweak baryogenesis hypothesis. In this talk, I will begin with a brief review of electroweak baryogenesis and report current status in various models. In particular, I will discuss improvement of a baryon number preservation condition and its impact on Higgs physics in models beyond the SM. If I have time, I will also briefly discuss how we probe a BAU-related CP violation with electric dipole moments.
