Single photons of high purity are essential to quantum secure communication. In this talk, we will present our work on the purification of single photons from colloidal quantum dots at room temperature [Phys. Rev. Lett. 119, 143601 (2017)]. We will also report our progress on the field test of quantum key distribution.
