Abstract:
Since the detection of gravitational waves emitted by binary black hole mergers made by the LIGO-Virgo Collaboration, the search for the stochastic gravitational wave background (SGWB) has become the next milestone in a new era of gravity-wave astronomy and cosmology. Recently, the pulsar timing arrays have detected for the first time a nanohertz SGWB. We aim to understand the origin and property of the nanohertz SGWB, and go beyond classical and Einstein's gravity, using the SGWB to test general relativity and probe the quantum nature of GWs.
