Introduction This winter school highlights two emerging directions at the interface of nonequilibrium physics, information, and data-driven modeling. Dr. Tan Van Vu will discuss recent advances on the thermodynamic uncertainty, entropy production constrained fluctuations, and optimal transport theory in stochastic thermodynamics and quantum many-body systems. Dr. Junghyo Jo will introduce how diffusion-based generative models can augment limited datasets and improve inference tasks, illustrated through inverse Ising reconstruction and neural activity data. Together, these lectures provide a broad and accessible overview of how physical constraints and modern machine-learning tools can be applied to study complex systems. Date Mon., January 12, 2026 Time 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM Venue PH-307, Physics building, National Chung Cheng University (國立中正大學), Chiayi Invited Speakers Tan Van Vu, Kyoto University Junghyo Jo, Seoul National University Organizing Committee Chong-Wai Io (CCU) Guan-Rong Huang (NTHU) Fu-Lai Wen (NCU) Wei-Hsiang Lin (AS) Hong-Yan Shih (AS) Tetsuya Hiraiwa (AS) Lee-Wei Yang (NTHU) Hsuan-Yi Chen (NCU) Pik-Yin Lai (NCU) Cheng-Hung Chang (NYCU) Sponsors Physics Division, National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS-Phys) Contact Ms. Wu NCTS HQ, Physics Division, National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS) minpeiwu@phys.ncts.ntu.edu.tw +886-2-3366-9931 |
