Overview

The “International Joint Workshop on the Standard Model and Beyond” (Oct.14-15, 2021) is the successor of the previous one held at ITP-CAS (2019), which itself is the successor of the KEK-KIAS-NCTS joint workshops held at NCTS (2016), KIAS (2017) and KEK (2018). Staring from this year of 2021, two more countries Australia and Vietnam will join the workshop series as new host countries/institutes. The main purpose of the joint workshop is to bring together theorists from different institutes to report their latest research findings in particle phenomenology and related disciplines of astrophysics and cosmology, both within and beyond the standard models of particle physics (SM) and cosmology (ΛCDM). This workshop also aims at providing unique opportunities for collaborations among members from different institutes.

The workshop in this year is combined together with the Frontier in Particle Physics workshop series which was held at National Taiwan University in the fall for the last 5 years. This year the main theme will be “Cosmology Frontier in Particle Physics: Astroparticle Physics and Early Universe” (Oct.12-13, 2021). The aim of this workshop, sponsored by NTU and NCTS, is to bring together experts working at the interface of particle physics and cosmology to discuss latest results and their implications in our pursuit of physics beyond the standard model. We will discuss multi-messenger physics that can be better probed from astronomical and cosmological observations. The purpose of the workshop is also for intensive discussions and collaborations.

During both workshops, seminar-style talks will be arranged and sessions are left free for in-depth discussions and collaborations. Through interactions among our colleagues from different institutes, we can nurture novel ideas for further explorations.
