| Conference Name | Young Researchers Forum on Quantum Information Science |
| Content |
Quantum information science (QIS) is a rapidly advancing field that has drawn sustained interest from a broad range of disciplines, including physics, computer science, and information theory, among others. As a deeply interdisciplinary area, it not only deepens our understanding of the microscopic quantum world and the fundamental limits of information processing, but also underpins the development of transformative quantum technologies, such as quantum computing, quantum cryptography, and quantum communication. With the support of the National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS), this initiative aims to further foster the growth of QIS in Taiwan, with particular emphasis on nurturing the next generation of researchers. This Forum is designed to provide a platform for early-career researchers—including postdoctoral fellows, PhD students, master’s students, and undergraduate students—working across all areas of QIS, as well as related fields such as atomic, molecular, and optical physics, to present their recent work and engage in the exchange of ideas. The program will consist exclusively of contributed talks, without a poster session, thereby offering participants valuable opportunities for oral presentation. This Forum is part of the joint programme by NCTS, which includes the 2026 AMO summer school and 2026 Workshop on Quantum Science and Technology (QST), which is to be held from 10-11 August, and 13-14 August, respectively, at the same location. Participants are strongly encouraged to take this great opportunity to participate in these other two events as well. (Separate registration for these two events will be needed; their webpage(s) will come soon) Professors and established researchers are also warmly encouraged to attend and participate in the Forum, especially those invited to the 2026 AMO Summer School and the 2026 Workshop on Quantum Science and Technology (QST). Their participation would provide valuable opportunities for discussion and interaction, from which young researchers and students can greatly benefit. (For professors, registration will be needed so that we can better estimate e.g. the lunch boxes to order) |
